Start playing all girls cricket! The All Girls Cricket Competition (AGCC) invites Shelford Girls aged 9-16 to join in the fun of playing cricket in a friendly, fun and encouraging environment. Matches are Wednesday evenings 5 - 7.30pm starting October 21, 2015 (no matches in school holidays). Several girls from Shelford played in the AGCC in 2014/15 and forged wonderful friendships as well as learning new skills. Alex Clancy (Carnegie Cricket Club) and Alexandra Cornelius (Murrumbeena Cricket Club) even when on to play in a regional team that won the Under 14 State Championships! “I joined the All Girls Cricket Competition (AGCC) last year with only a little cricket experience. I had previously played in a boy’s competition and I found playing against boys quite intimidating for a beginner. Now that I am playing in the AGCC I get excited to play rather then nervous. It’s such a friendly and fun atmosphere; and all the girls are so encouraging of each other. Cricket is such a great sport and the AGCC has allowed me to make friends with girls who share the same passion and love for cricket. The AGCC has taught me so many skills and I have made some great friends that I will hopefully play with for many years to come.” – Alex Clancy – Year 7 (Carnegie Cricket Club all girls team) To lean more about how you can join a team and start playing all girls cricket, view the 2015 season flyer and FAQS or contact Clare Murphy (Alex Clancy’s mum) on 0414 443 846.
