Requirements for Management Concentrations: Business Management,
Entrepreneurship and Human Resources Management
Students are required to choose one of the five Management concentrations. The requirements for the Business
Management, Entrepreneurship and Human Resources Management concentrations are outlined below. The
requirements for the concentrations in Arts and Entertainment Management and Hospitality and Tourism
Management are outlined in separate worksheets.
The requirements for each concentrations outlined below consist of certain required courses and elective courses to
be selected from those listed for each concentration. Some management courses are not offered every semester.
Students should consult the online Course Descriptions (accessible from A-Z listing on Pace homepage) or Class
Schedule for information on when the courses will be offered and on which campus. Except where indicated, all
courses listed for each concentration are three credits.
1. Business Management (15 credits)
The Business Management concentration prepares
students for managerial careers. It focuses on the
actions of managers in establishing objectives and
planning for their accomplishment, integrating the
actions of people and operations, and measuring the
timely achievement of plans.

2. Entrepreneurship (15 credits)
The Entrepreneurship concentration prepares students
for careers in entrepreneurship and small business. It
focuses on providing students with the skills that they
will need to initiate and manage business ventures,
including developing new products, drafting a business
plan, and forming and running a family business. Other
topics covered are financial management, marketing,
and human resource management in a small business
setting. Students will also learn to analyze consumer
and business trends and to use this information in
planning and developing a new business venture.
